Kemo Sabe set up a boot bar at Hotel Granduca, and Houston’s VIP list showed up for fittings.

The Aspen atelier’s invitation-only debut custom boot party filled the hotel. Wranglers walked guests through boots and hats, choosing the details that would make each piece theirs. The boots will be handcrafted at the Kemo Sabe Boot Ranch in El Paso and ready in time for the Houston Rodeo, five months out.

Between fittings, the room drank Kemo Sabe margaritas and cocktails made with Original Grit Tequila. Nobody’s Fool with Kelley Peters played. Hotel Granduca’s kitchen, under Executive Chef Maurizio Ferrarese, sent out Texas beef tartare with black truffle, house-smoked salmon and Kaluga caviar on blini, burrata with delicata squash, Wagyu short rib arancini, mini chicken-fried Texas quail with hot honey and Applewood bacon, and Gulf shrimp tempura with spicy yuzu aioli and more Kaluga caviar.

Fittings continued as the night ran on. The last stop was Remi Bar.

The public got a turn the following days with custom fittings at the hotel. Boots start at $1,000, depending on the customization.

Guests included Mary Kelley and Thomas Duncan, Donae Chramosta, Eli Rallo, Alexis Guillory, Gabriel Gooley, Sterling and Taylor Dio, Demi and Johnny McCormack, Paulina Padilla, Carson Brown, Stephanie Grichor, Anne Lee Phillips, Meghan Horne, Janie and Todd Mason, Courtney Zavala, Janie Heard, Annabelle Ward, Katelyn Gosslee, Hayden Rome, Kay Deunner, Emily Holden, and Mary Ann and Richard Mason.
